Mit PlasmaCare® ist es uns gelungen, ein Handgerät zur Wunddesinfektion zu entwickeln, das mit kaltem atmosphärischem Plasma (KAP) arbeitet. Es hat etwa die Größe und das Gewicht eines alten Telefonhörers und ist batteriebetrieben. PlasmaCare® kann in Kliniken und Praxen von medizinischem und pflegerischem Personal sowie von Wundexperten eingesetzt werden.
PlasmaCare® is a handy medical device. It uses cold atmospheric plasma to inactivate microorganisms, including multi-resistant pathogens, and stimulate wound healing. The Nuremberg Nursing Practice Center has used the technology on a trial basis. According to the resident, every wound treatment was painless. Delayed healing occurred after the application of cold plasma therapy. During the wound healing phase, it waspossible to completely dispense with further antibiotics, although these had been included in the treatment plan. By ending the isolating measures, full participation in society was made possible again. Exercise in and out of bed was once again possible without restriction.
