Cold plasma therapy with the handheld device plasma care® improves the tendency to heal in problem wounds – 10 case studies from diabetological practice (translation, published in german)

In nine out of ten patients, there was an improvement in the wound conditions, including a significant reduction in the wound area in four cases and almost complete wound closure within a few weeks in four other cases.

10 patients, 8 suffering from diabetes, all with chronic wounds, especially diabetic foot ulcers were enrolled in this case study to observe healing tendencies in chronic wounds with CAP treatment once a week for 1 min. The treatment was carried out until the wound was fully healed or for max. 11 weeks. The treatment well received by all patients, without pain or side effects. 6 of 10 patients treated successfully: The wound improved from non-healing to healing reaching mostly the epithelialization phase after only 4 weeks. 4 wounds did not respond to treatment. Overall, there was a significant reduction in wound fibrine and wound secretion, wound size reduced on average by 72% in only 9,3 weeks.
