Brüning et. al., Kaltplasmatherapie bei der Behandlung von Wundheilungsstörungen. Eine klinische Anwendungsbeobachtung bei zehn Patienten einer dermatologischen Tagesklinik. Spitzenforschung Dermatologie (2022)

The case observation shows an improvement in 84% of the wounds, 79% achieved a wound size reduction of at least 40% after an average of 7 treatments.

Cold plasma therapy can make a valuable contribution to the treatment of wound healing disorders, just like the treatment of chronic wounds. A total of eight wounds healed completely and an improvement was observed in a further eight wounds. Overall, 15 of the 19 wounds (79%) achieved an average reduction in wound size of 40% after 7 treatments. Three wounds did not respond to the treatment. The treatment of chronic wounds with cold plasma is effective and promotes healing as a supplement to guideline-based therapy, even if the wound has been present for a long time and already has scar tissue. As with chronic wounds, cold plasma also has a positive effect on the healing process in postoperative wound healing disorders.
